STEVIE B
STEVIE B.

The following text portion (slightly modified) is taken from DMA Magazine (volume 5 – Issue 12). When most people think about Freestyle, and the King of Freestyle, they often think of Stevie B. Without a doubt, this remarkable artist wears the crown well! A consistent worldwide hitmaker, renown dance and pop music artist, Stevie B. has won global acclaim for over a decade of hit records. His single, ”Because of I Love You,” ranks in the top 10% of the best-selling singles from 1955 to present.

Raised in Miami on a steady diet of Beatles and Earth, Wind and Fire, Stevie began singing at a young age, and soon began producing and engineering emerging artists while playing keyboards in various local bands. In 1986, Stevie opened his own recording studio and launched MIDTOWN RECORDS. This venture gave birth to his first album ”PARTY YOUR BODY,” a groundbreaking recording that defined dance music and it’s Freestyle offshoot. Its high-energy sound exploded on the streets, in the clubs and on the airwaves, and quickly became a platinum smash.

Stevie B’s commitment to dance has compelled him to create a new label, DANCE 2000 RECORDS, ensuring that dance music enters the third Millennium stronger than ever. “Dance 2000 is just a concept we had, because we knew we were moving into the year 2000,” elaborated Stevie. ”RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!” is the debut album to come from the fledging label, in association with distributing powerhouse, Navarre Corporation The first single released from this album is a remake of ”If You Leave Me Now,” a hit song that Stevie B originally wrote for Jaya a decade earlier. This time around, he teams up with Canadian singing sensation, Alexia Phillips

With this album, we also see the return of legendary Freestyle producer, Tolga Katas; as well as music heavyweights: Glenn Gutierrez (Classified Records –Jocelyn Enriquez & M:G), Ivan Kopas, and Dadgel Atabay (formerly with Velocity Records – Buffy & Kim DelFierro) bringing their skillful contributions to this project.
